Ok Lot’s of Stuff Going on!!!! Things are crazy here at Mazzy Blue Studios…but in a very good way:)

I have three shows coming up next month!!!

One is the Manasaas Gallery Walk

The next one is TOTAS at the Cherokee Heritage Center in Oklahoma

Last but not least is

Paint! Manassas logo

So things are in high speed around here!!! I also have a few commissions that I am currently working on and one of them is Laurna’s Painting of her man and his dog….I’m excited to get this paining to her and will be working on it into the night….I will post all the progress photos later on this weekend. I hope to have it done by the end of this weekend and ready to ship out to her.

Also as promised I got my “Metal Canvas” in the mail this week!!! Here are a few pics with my dogs doing a thorough investigation of this foreign canvas:)

The above photo is of Zoe and Amelia looking at the “Metal Canvas” and not sure what to make of it????? You see Amelia’s nose at the far right corner…he he he….

I then got this cute shot of Amelia once she got used to the “object” she was ready for her close up:)

My two furbabies have kept me constant company through all of it!!! They are just the best…So we went on a long walk today with the sunshine and oh what a lovely day it was for a stroll!!! So many trees in bloom and and my Zoe loves to hunt the insects!!!

So after the walk we were all exhausted!!!

I was hunkering down at the embroidery machine when I got this pic of her perking back up after her walk to the sounds of some sort of flying bug that came in with us when the door was open…she then carried on with the hunt….but I just love this photo!!! The expression on her face!!!

This is what I have been sewing!!! I had orders for these that I had to fill and it was interesting working on them…my friend Christie had made a few for me for Christmas bc I was too swamped with badge reels and pucker pups!!! So these were fun to do…they are so much fun to wear too!!! There is so much space in them and I love to deep pockets!!!

These two bags were made from zebra minky and black corduroy. So soft and yet strong!!! These bags will hold a lot’s of stuff!!!

I’m going to be making more…I have some snow leopard minky and pink camo just to name a few…

I am also going to be using some of my MM deer fabric to make some of these beauties!!!!

These are going for $45 custom, not bad for an well crafted handmade bag I have to say…in fact a steel!!!
I can monogram and embroider them for you as well!!!
So let me know if you want to pace an order!!!!

Pendants

Here are a few of my new glass pendants that I worked on at the request of a few of my collectors.

This one sold….

The glass tiles have leather backings because did not like the idea of having varnish right next to the skin…so I added on a layer of soft buckskin to the backs of all my glass tile pieces. It’s velvet soft texture feels so good right up against the skin, making them a joy to wear!!!

This butterfly is still available at only $20

The other ones I have are pendants made of an image sandwiched between two glass slides and encased in a bronze hinge frame…they can also be made into ornaments as well!!!

This one has sold today as well but I just wanted to show it to you all!!!

This one is still available at $20

The same with this one…only $20 and still available!!!

This one I named “Paris”…thought about keeping it for myself but I know it needs to go to another good home…sigh!!! Again I am only asking $20

Last but not least is this one…$20

Please leave me a comment and email me if you are interested in any of the items above? All ITEMS INCLUDE A GIFT BOX AND MATCHING RIBBON NECKLACE WITH LOBSTER CLAW CLASP!!!! Shipping is FREE anywhere in the USA!!!!

We are planning book readings at a few of the local schools. If your local and know of a class that could benefit from a reading of this book we would be more than willing to do so!!!

So what was I doing before all of this excitement at the front door step you ask? Well I was putting the finishing coats on a canvas that traveled with me all the way from southern France and my time there in college!!! It is a very special piece that my high school friend Elaina bought!!! I had it out from my inventory and gave it a good look over…I wanted it to have a final protective coat because it was stretched on bars once I made it back to the states but had not been in any shows since so I thought it needed a bit of love before I sent it on to it’s forever home!!! I was done of beautiful linen canvas and as I worked with it for the last time…I realized just how awesome linen canvas is!!! I think the next round of canvas I get will have to be linen!!! It is so smooth!!! Also it brought back so many memories!!! It was the view from outside my studio there…so many magical moments there in La Coste!!! Sigh…..

Oh I cannot wait to see what it looks like in Elaina’s house!!! I grabbed the extra bubble wrap I needed to send it out to her and am packing it up tight in a box tonight!!! Hubby will take it onto the post office in the AM:)
