It’s been a busy time in the studio :)   I just finished these cute little Union soldier bunnies to place in the downtown “Virginia’s Historic Places” show. It’s a companion show to the Remains to be Scene exhibit soon to be on exhibit at the Buchanan Partners Gallery in the Hylton Performing Arts Center.  If you want to visit this painting in the flesh then go on down to Simply Sweet and enjoy some Coffee & Ice Cream :)

Late Night Sketches…

The pre- orders for Nikita’s Journey are now open!!! Thanks to everyone for all your orders so far!!! Every order counts!!!!

My man is working on a website for the book as well!!! So I will let everyone know when it is up and running!!!!

Lot’s of things happening here at Mazzy blue Studios!!!!  As you my have noticed we have redesigned the website!!!!  Please let me know how you all like it? Constrictive criticism is always welcome!!!! We also just finished an updated logo that I happen to really LOVE!!!! I think it captures the energy of my art!!!!

We are also in the process of setting up an online gallery and shop!!!

I’m working steadily on the upcoming exhibit of “If Chairs Could Talk”….I will be posting pictures soon!!!

Last night as I lay in bed I found myself restless….I could not sleep. So I got up a did a few sketches that I thought I would share with you all.

These two are going to be the paintings that I need to do for the Trail of Tears Show in Oklahoma. They just kind of came to me….and I think this is the reason I was not able to sleep…like they were call to me….needing to be let out of my head to escape onto paper. Next they shall move onto my canvas for their forever home….

This was the last sketch of the night….my constant companion…Zoe. She was awoken by me getting up in the wee hours of the morning to sketch. So she decided to curl up in a blanket right beside me and watch until she drifter back to sleep. So I had to draw her all curled up in her dogie dreamland….

Cheers~
