Oh man I caught a bit of Ted Nugent’s rants today and can’t help but think I would like to sit down and have a cup o coffee with him sometime and just shoot the breeze…..lol…..it would be quite colorful!!!

He has a great website that I am sure my brother frequents often with his hunter buddies!!!
All of my house and out of town guests are gone and for a few days while my DH was out of town on Business it was just me and the girls..So my friend Mich came over and we went to scout out Herndons down town district for this weekends paint out competition!!! We have a lovely little lunch and took a few more photos before heading home. Later that evening she came back by to pick me up for a watercolor class she was teaching and talked me into taking part in. So here are the results….

Let me know what you all think? This was done with both a wet on wet techniuque as well as a dry on wet….very interesting!!!!
Here is one of the latest things I did for my best friend….

It is a Baby Carrier…and yes it is made from scratch!!! She picked out the fabric and thread colors and I added some Minky as well….the Dogs found it to be quite comfy as well!!!! LOL
Awe…I miss my Creative Crystal!!!!

Here is a pic of my cutie pie and my DH in the old Baby Carrier….

How cute are they????!!!! I mean come on now!!!!

Ok well back to the studio for me!!!!
Muah!!!!

We started out the summer with our yearly work on behalf of the Mazzy Kaya Foundation and in honor of our Daughter….
We were at Bailie’s Elementary again this year..we were once again asked back to work this year with a kindergarten class. Mazzy would have been starting school this year…so it was very special that we had the chance to work with this grade.

Always an extremely awarding experience!!!
I also finished the wedding dress and know that many of you wanted final pictures so here are a few that I took at the fitting!!!! She made such a gorgeous bride!!!!

We had two great birthday parties one for Shane and one for me…..both times out niece Enna made us Unbelievable Cakes!!!! They both totally wowed the entire crowd both times!!!

Enna is the best chef ever!!! Thank you Enna!!!

I knitted up a hat for my friend Christie for a trip she was taking to some cold places!!!!

She is going to make be a fab bag as soon as I send her out the pattern!!!! Oh dear…one more thing I have to remember to do!!!!
I’ve been busy working on finishing one of the books I was asked to illustrate!!!

I will post more on the book as it is set to be published!!!
I then Have another book to jump into next about a Lizzard!!!! A very awesome story as well!!! Thanks Katherine for hanging in there on the sidelines while I finish this one up first!!!!! Again Thank You!!!!!
I’ve also done a few things on the embrodery machine…just a tid bit ….he
re is some of my eyeglass holders!!!!

Ok so I know there is so much more that I have left out but will catch you all up on it later on this week!
I turned 30 today!!! Wow…it took me a while to get it through my head but once I did it was great!!! Age is something to truly embrace…with it comes all the gifts that life has to give….all the memories…friends…family..all the loved ones that grace your life and intertwine themselves in your Heart & Soul.
So Sat. my friend Carlos threw Christina and I a birthday bash in DC!!!

It was such an awesome time!!! Shane had a lot of fun and Jon “Kelly’s” man came bearing gifts that Enna had helped pick out, she even wrapped the box!!! Oh so very cool!!! With some Diva sunglasses..and a hand knitted coffee cup cozy that I will have to share with everyone very soon!!! What an awesome way to go green!!!

It was a very beautiful evening in DC!!! Thank You Carlos!!!
Then today there was a “Knock, Knock, Knock” and at the door was my awesome man hiding behind these!!!
Notice the beautiful butterfly balloon!!! WOW!!!
He also had these….
Made my heart melt..as if that was not enough he had something very special…a Tawny Port that was symbolic of the weekend he whisked me away to Williamsburg and we had a very special time. It was all so sentimental…..
We then were getting read to go out to dinner when at the door was a delivery of flowers from my wonderful Mother & Father in Law!!! Yup…you guessed it SUNFLOWERS!!!!! AWESOME!!!!

I can’t wait to paint them!!! I have to say that on mother’s day as well they sent me the most beautiful letter….when Shane and I were opening the mail we spotted what we thought to be a card from them andwas surprized to find it was instead a letter so I started to read it out loud to him assuming it was for both of us…and I completely choked up while reading the incredibly deep words of love…I can’t express how much it meant to me and how deeply it touched my heart. To feel the warmth and loved packed in to that letter…it was simply wonderfully comforting.
Shane surprized me by taking me to one of my our favorite places!!! And they made this cute little number for me!!!

It was so pretty I almost did not want to mess it up eating it!!! But I DID:)
Oh I am so thankful for all my family and friends & my loving husband!!! XXOO the Only thing that could have made today anymore perfect was if Mazzy was physically still here to enjoy all of it…I know she is always in our hearts and her amazing spirit surounds us always….
Cheers!!!
Still Recovering from this past week and weekend!!! Had fun…as seen in the “BEFORE” pic…..

then here is my most current state….the “AFTER”…..LOL!!!!

Oh yes it was fun….but took a bit of a toll….it all started with a paint out date on Thursday with my good friend Rob…..

Then lunch with his wife Gina where I got asked to help out at a flower shop for the weekend due to a malfunctioning refrigerator truck…long story…. but needless to say I said yes….
Then it was off to the Wedding Dress Bead A Thon…Thrusday night/Friday morning…yup an all nighter…..but I wanted it to be perfect…so I did what needed to be done….pictures to come soon….10 AM my client came by to wisk me and the dress off for a fitting ….again pictures to follow…..then she took me to a long luch where we awaited my hubby to join for coffee and sopapillias….yummmm…..
I then went home to crash and get the sleep I so desperatly needed before embarking on the night shift at the flower shop….somewhere in the midst of my delirious dreaming I somehow got the catchy tune “Working at the Carwash” stuck in my head but instead of car wash the words flower shop were substituted….yes….welcome to my world……
Anywhoo….I got up in time to pack up a bag as my ride came and off I went…..

I helped out till the wee hours of Sunday….and then I think the weight of the actual day being that of “Mothers Day” a bittersweet day for us, the rain and an oncoming migraine from what my doc says to be a cocktail of exhaustion and circumstance…..so alas that was the parting of me and the flower shop for now….
They are going to give me an arangment of my favorite flowers next time Gina or I get down that way…..SUNFLOWERS!!!!!! As many of you allready know they are my favorites!!! And I am planning on panting the heck out of them….love them as subjects for still lifes…..
Cheers!!!

We had so much fun going up to NY and spending time with Crystal & Family!!! Such a grand time spending Cherished moments with Crystal & Terry’s Little one…we really hated to have to go…sigh!!! Alas I had to head home to finish a painting for a show in Oklahoma and tie up loose ends on a book I am working on. So I had to head back to the studio.

We also wanted to head home to visit our daughter’s tree on her birthday….March 25th…she would have been five this year…I miss her every day…the birthdays are always close to my heart and we celebrate the time we had with her…such a gift….

Here are some pictures of the Memorial Gardens where Mazzy has a tree. There is a labyrinth that I walk every year in reflection of her life and our love….also there are Stained Glass Silos that are just beautiful…. with seats inside for reflection….a butterfly garden…such an amazing place…so peaceful…a wonderful place…..
