Baby Shower & Memorial Gardens….Mazzy’s Fifth Birthday

Ξ March 31st, 2008 | → 3 Comments | ∇ Life Outside the Studio, PHOTOGRAPHY |

We had so much fun going up to NY and spending time with Crystal & Family!!! Such a grand time spending Cherished moments with Crystal & Terry’s Little one…we really hated to have to go…sigh!!! Alas I had to head home to finish a painting for a show in Oklahoma and tie up loose ends on a book I am working on. So I had to head back to the studio.

We also wanted to head home to visit our daughter’s tree on her birthday….March 25th…she would have been five this year…I miss her every day…the birthdays are always close to my heart and we celebrate the time we had with her…such a gift….

Here are some pictures of the Memorial Gardens where Mazzy has a tree. There is a labyrinth that I walk every year in reflection of her life and our love….also there are Stained Glass Silos that are just beautiful…. with seats inside for reflection….a butterfly garden…such an amazing place…so peaceful…a wonderful place…..

This is the little guy I made all those Baby Shower Cards for!!! His name is Richard Arnold Chrisjohn!!! He didn’t want to to miss his shower so he came a little early!!! LOL!!! He was born in the wee hours this morning!!! I can’t wait to meet him in person!!!

Right now in the Studio I am doing a LOT of work on my illustrations for one of the Children’s books. We are trying to get it all ready for print by the end of next week!!!

When I’m not doing that then I am working on the website and updates!!!

While I was doing this I happened to look down at one of my two trusty companions…Zoey….here she was snuggled up in her little bed with all her bones all safe and sound…

zoe-with-bones.jpgzoe-with-bones.jpgzoe-with-bones.jpg

She must have gathered them all up before she decided they were in a safe place and all accounted for so she could take her nap…so cute…. so I had to take her picture to share with you all!!! And yes to all you Star Track fans…that is a Tribble next to her bed!!! We got it for them when we went to the Star Track Experience when we were in Las Vegas….she just loves the thing!!!

My dogs arn’t spoiled….. Nooooooooo…..LOL….

I can’t help it I love them!!!!
Ok well I have lot’s to get back to …..crack the whip….I hope everyone has a Safe and Wonderful weekend!!!

FAIR TRADE STORE NAMING CONTEST!

We need your help naming our online Fair Trade store where we will sell
items made by women’s weaving cooperatives in Chiapas, Mexico. We would like
to leave the name open to the possibility of selling items from other
cooperatives in other parts of the world in
the future. Although we will be incorporating items made by men and children
as well, a main focus of our store will be helping women artisans who work
cooperatively find international fair trade markets for their goods.

The store name should communicate the belief that “people, plants, animals,
Earth and other spiritual beings must cooperate with each other to keep the
world in balance and in flower.”

We also want to convey ideas of:
solidarity
women united
working cooperatively
defying borders
global solidarity

BABY SHOWER INVITATIONS

Ξ March 10th, 2008 | → 4 Comments | ∇ CRAFTY |

Ok so here are the latest items to come from my studio!!! I put a lot of passion into them because they are for one of my best friends!!! I love her dearly and I wanted everything to be an extension of the love I hold in my heart for her…an so here we are!!! Let me know what you all think?!!! I sent them out on Friday!!!

I used a stamping technique along with my trusty Cricut by Provo…it was so much fun to use and allowed me to create these little treasures without having to hand cut and trace everything. I also used some double sided tape and brads all par for the course…the usual tricks of the trade!!!

I really loved the colors, but I have to say it was really hard to settle on something that could be used for either a boy or a girl…seeing as how the parents are not going to find out the sex of the baby. I really did not want to go with the usual pale colors or yes yellow…so I think this was a good compromise!!!
