Gamblers Quail…

“Gamblers Quail” the Original sold at the Cherokee Homecoming Show in Oklahoma. One of my watercolor works inspired by my days growing up in the southwestern desert…I remember hearing the quails all settle in for the evening like clockwork right at dusk, they would make such a fuss and then all of a sudden you would hear the calm quite of the evening taking hold…

PRINTS & CARDS are still available HERE in my SHOP.

First Days of Fall…

First days of fall and I find myself looking back and how swift and yet delicately beautiful summer seemed to be.  This was one of the the most busy of all summers since we started the studio, busy is good and we are thankful for that and so I have been doing my best to keep working steady and strong…putting my heart into everything I create. So we plowed through the summer with hard work and lot’s of coffee :)   Towards the tail end with the  love form our dear family & friends we went on two adventures to the beachy dunes of Cape May and Rehoboth’s coastal buzz. Both places beautifully captivating in their own unique way and totally enhanced by the wonderful people we were with…made both experiences beautiful and enchanting experiences we shall treasure.

Walking on the beach in Cape May

The Lighthouse of Cape May

St. Mary’s By The Sea

A really neat retreat for the nuns that has a history dating back to the turn of the century.

Here are some of the beautiful sunsets we got to enjoy. I plan on taking a few of these photos and working them into watercolor studies.  So many rich tones and beautiful light to play with!!!

A breathtaking view from the deck and it was sooooo neat to see the big ships all lit up at night charting their way there way out to open waters…

On our trip to Rehoboth we were surround by the most beautiful pines!!! It reminded me of an old Lead Belly song…

They had some really cute shops down by the boardwalk. There was a really good little bakery that was totally allergy friendly and had the best sticky rolls ever!!! I will get the name and website to share later :)

The beach was a bit stormy and had some really cool waves…along with those waves came this facinating sea foam!!!

It was really cool kinda like the foam you would get on your latte…but I would not want to eat it!!!! lol … None of us had really ever seen so much of it and it was neat to see it roll and tumble in the wind along the beach.

Kelley found this really cool place that the Rehoboth Art League calls home. It was a truly lovely place that we got to wander the grounds a bit looking at some of the artist creations.

So now I have really gorgeous memories & images to paint from my summer travels.  I can’t wait to get started on these in the studio!!!!

Selina xoxo
